Intro to Astrophotography Group Workshop
Intro to Astrophotography Group Workshop
Over 3 hours you will learn to photograph the starry night skies and landscape surrounding us. If you own a DSLR or Mirrorless camera and keen to learn how to photograph long exposures by night, then this workshop is for you.
We will start with catching sunset (depending on time of year… usually daylight savings months only) where we will chat and learn about how your cameras shutter speed, ISO and aperture work together in relation to capturing starry night long exposures.
You will learn how to manually focus your lens to capture awesome astro images.
We will discuss composition, adding a human element giving your photos that WOW factor and adjusting your cameras white balance for shooting in different situations (moon vs no moon).
This workshop is a great way, if you've always wanted to learn how to shoot stars or learning the required settings for capturing Aurora but been cautious or hesitant to go alone at night. Come learn in a small group, hands on workshop. What you need:
Camera and a lens that allows you to manual focus.
Tripod (if you don’t have one, no worries let me know and you can borrow a MeFOTO tripod on the night)
Remote shutter release (optional)
Head torch (with a red light if possible)
Max 3-5 people for this workshop (location dependant), as we want you to walk away feeling confident having had a fun time.
The workshop is kept small, so everyone gets ample time for help and to ask questions. See what people have said about my workshops here.
Supported by Samyang Optics Australia who are known for their premium night scape lenses, if you shoot with a Canon camera I will have two Samyang lenses with me on the night that you can try out. The Samyang XP 14mm f2.4 and Samyang 20mm f1.8
No tripod? No problems, I am a MeFOTO tripod Ambassador so let me know and you can borrow a MeFoto Australia tripod if you don't have one.
