One on One Deep Space Astrophotography Workshop Experience with Dwarf Lab 3 Smart Scope
NEW WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE JUST LAUNCHED 4/7/2025
Have you ever wanted to take photos of deep space star clusters or nebulas? Join Ben on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria for this one on one workshop experience using the latest technology smart telescope Dwarf 3.
Over three hours you will search the southern night sky for points of interest, and take a series of ‘Dark frames’ about 10 and Light frames’ somewhere between 30-60 per image to capture the detail.
We will have jaw dropping moments (or at least I do..) when we see your image building with more detail each frame the Dwarf 3 takes before your eyes.
Discuss basic editing of images and cropping.
I’ll bring:
The Dwarf 3 Smart Telescope and a tripod (I have TWO Dwarf’s for those booking a Two on One Workshop).

You need to come along with:
Warm clothes
Head torch with red light
What you leave with:
By the end of our session, we will have a bunch of images that have been captured stacked and had the Dwarf 3 Smart Edit applied (all within the Smart Telescope) we save them onto my phone, where I will then send you the images. You can edit or tweak them to your liking.
About Dwarf 3:
With its compact size, easy setup, and shooting capabilities, the DWARF 3 smart telescope makes capturing Nebula and Star Clusters accessible to anyone, almost anywhere.
The Dwarf 3 also has a solar filter, allowing you to capture the sun during daylight hours!
Please note, the Dwarf 3 isn’t the Hubble Telescope or a $3000-$10000 dollar setup but a Smart Telescope around $1000 Aussie dollars. the above images are representative of what we might potentially capture on the night (after a edit tweak and crop). Each month of the year, there are different elements showing in our night sky.

In the event of any cancellation due to poor weather (we need fairly clear skies), we will reschedule you to a new workshop date. You will be contacted by 11.30am the day of the workshop if we need to reschedule.
If you are unable to attend within 24hrs of the workshop we offer a reschedule to a new workshop date but we must be notified via email or text message.
General fitness is required, wear WARM clothes during night workshops and comfortable shoes with grip and a torch or head lamp.
Workshops are held in locations that can have slippery surfaces or uneven surfaces. Your gear and your safety is your responsibility. If you have any concerns please contact me before booking in. Any injury, damage or loss - Benjamin Eriksson Photography takes no responsibility for.
